ByteMate vs. Streamlabs Cloudbot: Which Twitch Bot Is Right for You?

Streamlabs Cloudbot and ByteMate are both free, cloud-hosted Twitch bots, but they put their weight in different places. ByteMate vs. Streamlabs Cloudbot comes down to this: a bot that keeps your viewers busy with points and mini-games, versus a dashboard that brings your bot, overlays and community tools together. Full disclosure: ByteMate is our own tool, which is why this comparison also says where Cloudbot comes out ahead.

Streamlabs Cloudbot: points, games and three platforms

At the heart of Streamlabs Cloudbot is its loyalty system. Viewers earn points just by watching and spend them on mini-games like Heist, Slots or duels, on giveaway tickets, or on requests through Media Share, which lets your chat submit videos. On top of that come commands, timers, a queue, quotes, polls and chat alerts, and its moderation filters cover caps, emotes, paragraphs, links, symbols and words.

Its big advantage is reach: Cloudbot runs on YouTube and Kick as well as Twitch. Almost everything is free – only a custom bot name needs Streamlabs Ultra, which Streamlabs lists from $15.75 a month. Streamlabs also offers alerts, widgets and a tip page, but those live in the Streamlabs dashboard and Streamlabs Desktop rather than in the bot.

ByteMate: your bot and stream tools in one dashboard

Our tool covers the basics too – commands, timers, counters, quotes, a spam filter for links, caps, emotes, symbols and repetition, a word filter with regular expressions, triggers and nukes. Its focus is elsewhere, though: the same dashboard holds an Overlay Builder for OBS, a chat overlay and clip command, giveaways, polls, bingo, watchtime, statistics and its own donation page. New this month is a phone app for running emergency switches, title and chat while you’re live.

Premium costs €3.99 a month and adds, among other things, a custom bot name, shoutouts after raids and the Mod Tool for several channels. The limits are part of the picture: it’s Twitch only, with no points currency or mini-games and no video or song requests.

Which one fits you?

Go with Streamlabs Cloudbot if your community runs on its own points economy, if mini-games and video requests are part of your stream, or if you also stream on YouTube or Kick. If you already use Streamlabs for alerts and tips, the bot is right there with it.

Go with ByteMate if you stream on Twitch only and want your bot, overlays, giveaways and donations in one place – or if a custom bot name for €3.99 a month is all you need. FAQ

Is Streamlabs Cloudbot free?

Almost entirely. Commands, points, moderation, mini-games, polls and giveaways cost nothing. Only a custom bot name requires Streamlabs Ultra.

Can I use both at the same time?

Yes – for example Cloudbot for points and mini-games and our tool for overlays and giveaways. Just make sure they don’t both answer the same command or filter the same message, or your chat gets everything twice.

Does ByteMate have channel points?

There’s no separate points currency. Twitch’s own channel points can be wired in, though – for timed VIP, for example, or for giveaways your chat enters through a channel point reward.

Who is behind the two tools?

Streamlabs is part of Logitech. Our tool is developed in Germany and runs with netcup, a German hosting provider, on servers in Vienna – inside the EU.

Conclusion

Both bots are free and run in the cloud, but they solve different problems. Cloudbot is the better pick for a community that plays with points and for multi-platform streaming. Our tool is the better pick if you want your bot, overlays and community tools in one place on Twitch. This comparison reflects October 2026; for our latest changes, see Status & Changelogs.
