The goldsmith behind Surturs Schmiede makes Viking and medieval jewellery by hand in his Munich workshop. I built his online shop and still look after it.

crizCare
Twitch streamer crizko’s charity campaign for the German foundation Deutsche Depressionshilfe und Suizidprävention needed more than a classic WordPress site. So I built it as a custom web app with Next.js, and I run it on my own server.
- Countdown, schedule with calendar export and participant list with Twitch live status
- Sign-ups for streamers with double opt-in and an admin area for approvals
- Privacy built in: Twitch data only goes through the server, the player loads after a click, and analytics work without cookies
- Donations go straight to betterplace.org, no payments are handled on the site itself

WordPress or a custom web app?
For most projects, WordPress is the best choice: flexible, widely used and easy to manage after launch. I usually build new sites with the Kadence theme because it loads fast and can be edited without any coding. I take over existing sites built with Elementor or other themes just as well. If your project needs more, such as sign-ups with approval, live data or its own admin area, I build a custom web app with Next.js, as I did for crizCare. I’ll look at your project and tell you honestly what makes sense.

It depends on your project, and that’s exactly what we’ll figure out in the initial consultation. For most small businesses, freelancers and nonprofits I recommend WordPress: flexible, future-proof and easy to manage yourself. For very simple sites on a small budget, a website builder like Wix or Squarespace can be the better choice. I’ll tell you that openly, even if it means less work for me. If your project needs features that WordPress only manages with lots of plugins, on the other hand, a custom web app with Next.js is often the cleaner route.
Every project is different, so I write individual quotes instead of fixed prices. A shop or a bilingual site takes more work than a one-pager. In a free initial consultation we clarify the scope, and then you get a transparent quote with no hidden costs.
A small website is usually done in one to two weeks, larger sites take three to four weeks. For shops it mostly depends on product data and photos. Either way, it moves as fast as content and feedback arrive.

Yes. You change text, images and, for shops, products directly in WordPress, without any coding. After launch I’ll show you how. For a custom web app, we agree up front what you want to manage yourself, and you get an admin area for exactly that.
