I’m Mike — a web developer from Munich and the person behind ByteMate. I build tools that make streamers’ lives easier, and IT solutions for anyone who wants to achieve more online.
WHO I AM
I’m Mike — a web developer from the greater Munich area, streaming enthusiast, and the person behind ByteMike. What started as a hobby project is now a real platform: ByteMate, my self-developed Twitch bot dashboard, is already used by many happy creators and moderators. Alongside that, I help freelancers, small businesses, and nonprofits build a professional online presence — with web design and IT solutions tailored to them. I’m not a team or an agency — just someone who loves building things himself and values quality.
MY STORY
From Tinkerer to Developer
IT was never really a decision for me — more of a given. In our family, almost everyone does something with computers, so it was only a matter of time.
What grabbed me from the start is creating something from nothing. Whether it’s code, configuration, or concept — the moment something works that didn’t exist before is still priceless to me. Debugging drives me crazy and keeps me going at the same time. Either way — it never gets boring.
I’ve been working with WordPress and Linux for over 15 years — long before I made the leap into IT professionally in 2023. I rarely stick to one topic for long: when something interests me, I dig in until I understand it. For the past two years or so, I’ve been running Linux exclusively at home, including my own home server with Nextcloud and everything that comes with it. Having control over your own infrastructure is just part of it for me.
ByteMate came to life in 2025 — the way most projects do: because I was missing something. It all started with my own chat overlay, because none of the existing ones were flexible enough. Then the bot came along, small at first, then growing more and more comprehensive — until the final version went live in December 2025. I stream actively on Twitch myself, continuously since November 2023, so ByteMate isn’t just a project for me — it’s my daily tool.
